The Sedgwick Town Board met in regular session May 8, 2017 at the Town Hall, a quorum was verified and the meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Mayor Pro/tem Jeanie Tarver

 

Guest

Lupe Casias said the car show for June 12 is still on. A BBQ and the Ice Cream vendors will be here for the show. 800 copies of flyers will be sent out through the Julesburg Advocate.

 

Wayne Price is looking for volunteers for and funding for the cemetery. The board had a discussion. 

Gena moved to donate $1,000.00 every season, gas and the use of town equipment as needed. Peggy R. seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Maintenance

Richard is back to the mowing routine now that the weather is warm. 

Trash truck needs repaired. 

Trucks are still parking along the highway and more signs are needed.

Gena moved to buy more no parking signs. Carole seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Patrick received a bid from Cunningham for the repair of the water tower.

Troy moved to accept the bid from Cunningham Sandblasting and Painting; $3,500.00 to replace the 6” expansion joint on the water tower and $27,100.00 to replace the pipe. Gena seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

Peggy O. moved to have Accutest Laboratory the lab to use for water test. Gena seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

The board discussed painting a crosswalk, paint curb and signs. Patrick will look into signs and paint.

 

Minutes

Peggy Raymond was not at the meeting.

Gena moved to approve the minutes as corrected from the April 10, 2017 meeting. Troy seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

Peggy R. moved to approve the minutes as corrected from the May 1, 2017 special meeting. Gena seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Financial/Pay Bills

Peggy O. moved to pay the bills. Troy seconded the motion. Roll call vote; motioned carried.

The Sedgwick Jailhouse Museum is now a nonprofit and has opened a checking account. The town has $2,500.00 from the Campbell Foundation in the grant savings account that belongs to the museum and the board previously moved to donate $16,350.00 for the renovation of the museum building. 

Troy moved to release the $2,500.00 from the grant fund and issue a check for the $16,350.00 to the Sedgwick Jailhouse Museum. Peggy R. seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Old Business

Dog License and Ordinance tabled.

 

New Business

Gena moved to approve Resolution #01-2017 authorizing signatures for all bank accounts. Peggy R. seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Peggy R. moved to approve Resolution #02-2017 approving the pasture lease. Troy seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Jeanie moved to buy flowers for the planters and the Jailhouse Museum Park. Peggy O. seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Troy moved to approve the license renewal for Sedgwick Alternative Relief. Carole seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Gena moved have the meters read between the 25th and the end of the month and the bills out by the 5th. Troy seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.

 

Gena moved to adjourn the meeting. Peggy R. seconded the motion. Voice vote; motioned carried.
